Health Shots spoke with Grandmaster Akshar, a yoga master, spiritual guru and lifestyle coach to give us all the details about the benefits of massaging your ears.

Akshar says, “In yoga, it is believed that in addition to developing strength in body and mind, we also need to know how to apply this strength in the right place and at the right time. Different techniques to massage your ears:

  1. Be sure to sanitize your hands before massaging your ears.

  4. Using your thumb and forefinger, you can massage your lobes slowly and pull on them gently.
  5. Do not put your fingers in your ear canal, only massage the outer part of your ears.
  6. You can cover your ears gently with your palms and sit in silent meditation for a while.
  7. Use your fingers to massage the upper part of your ears and you can lightly press and fold them.
  8. Similarly, you can also use your index and thumb fingers to massage your ears in the middle and lower part as well.
  9. You can also form a cup with your palms and gently close and open your ears in a few reps.
